Technically you don’t have to bring anything with you, the pre-release kit will provided all the necessities you need to play in the event, but here is a suggested list of things I would bring: If you and your 2 Headed-Giant partner haven’t picked a team name yet, come prepared with one and let the front desk know when you check in. – Plan on arriving 30 minutes before the event time, so you can check-in and make any last minute purchases. Also, stay hydrated and make appropriate food plans. – Get a good night’s sleep or take a nap if you are doing the Midnight pre-release, or any pre-release event really. I like to do this before so that looking at all the new cards in my pool isn’t so overwhelming, because I have seen them at least once before. In the pre-release kits you will receive 4 Oath of the Gatewatch packs and 2 Battle for Zendikar packs. Also look at Battle for Zendikar’s card image gallery if you are not familiar with the set, and do the same thing. You don’t have to try to memorize them all, but take notice to what removal is in each color, any “bombs”, and interactions between cards. – Look at the card image gallery and become acquainted with the cards. These events fill up fast and spots are limited. Come up to the store and sign up for pre-release now to guarantee your spot. Prerelease, 2 Headed-Giant, and even the Sealed format can all be quite intimidating to players that are not familiar with the format, so I wanted to go through some tips and things that I have learned from doing multiple 2 Headed Giant Prereleases in the past. Gamers Grove has 3 Prerelease events coming up on January 16 th & 17 th, and 2 of the events are 2 Headed- Giants.
